my body itching all over
Itching skin?
Be careful about using Lanacaine or hydrocotisone over your entire body. You can absorb too much of those meds and have problems.
If you don't think it's an allergic reaction to something you ate or a new soap or detergent, and if you have no obvious medical problem (liver or kidney problems can cause severe itching), your skin is probably just very dry from this winter weather.
Drink plenty of fluids, after you get out of the shower pat your skin dry and apply moisturizer immediately. Aveeno, Eucerine, Curel are good for sensitive skin. Use mild body soap at this time of year, something like Caress or Dove; the deoderant soaps can dry your skin out more.
Reply:GO TO THE DOCTOR!
Reply:Dry cold weather. Mine is too. Lots of lotion and oatmeal baths!
Reply:Have you been using a humidifier? Moisturizing? Drinking enough water? If it's cold where you are, your skin may just be taking a beating. If you think it's serious, hurry to the doctor.
Reply:Try Lanacane--It burns, but it relieves itching. You might want to call your doc, though, b/c you might have a rash or disease!
Reply:see a dermatologist. see if they can prescribe something. it may be a histamine problem. or maybe an allergy. if its not one of those, get a good lotion that doesn't contain any theletes (fragrance) or parabens (plastics). i like aveeno w/ the green label. Mix the lotion in your hand w/ a little hydrocortisone cream (1%) and slather it on right when you get outta the shower, before your skin is totally dry.
Reply:I have the same problem and it is worse in the Winter. Sometime I claw myself to the point of leaving Bruises. I asked my Doctor about it and he called it the Winter Itch, because the Dry Cold Air takes all the Moisture from our body hence causing Dry Itchy Skin. I have since bought a Humidifier for the House to put Moisture back in the Air, that also helps with colds and dry hacky coughs. He also told me to take a Warm Shower in the Winter, NOT Hot and to apply baby Oil to the skin after Showering. It has helped a Lot.
Reply:Itching can be caused by insect bites like mosquito bites, heat rashes or allergic reactions.Aloe vera gel , apple cider vinegar or vitamin E oil can be effectively used on the affected skin.

Wear underwear with a cotton crotch and keep the crotch clean and dry.
If you have used an over-the-counter feminine itch or yeast infection treatment and do not notice improvement of your symptoms within three days, please see a health care provider to discuss diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
There are many of causes of itching. There is no shame in seeking medical advice when the itching causes you distress or goes on for an extended period of time. Good luck!

30 weeks preg...my belly skin is not itching but.....?
it's stretching!!! just relax, put a lot of lotion, DON'T SCRATCH IT.
Reply:dont scratch it at all and use (coco butter oil)..its the best to avoid strech marks..
Reply:Welcome to Stretch marks... you might not even see them until after the baby... Sorry girl, but its the truth. MOUSTURIZE MOUSTURIZE MOUSTURIZE. And DRINK WATER it really does help, because it hydrates your skin from the inside so it helps with the elasticity.
EUCERIN is a great lotion to sooth and moisturize.
VITAMIN E OIL is GREAT for scars and to help treat and prevent stretch marks. My belly got huge and the E Oil REALLY Helped with my stretch marks. They are not bad at all now. SO START USING IT NOW.
Cocoa butter and shea dont work as good as they say.
GOOD LUCK
Reply:Its stretching thats why you are feeling the "burning" feeling. Not eveyone gets "itching" when the skin is stretching. Just be thankful that its not itching, im having a really horrible experience with itchy skin. My skin is soooo itchy that i have rashes on my stretch marks from scraching so much. Itching Skin- Skin Condition or Plain Allergy?
About 3 years ago, I started noticing that my arms, back and chest would uncontrollably itch, and the coldest possible shower is the only thing that relieves.
The feeling is as though I am lightly being poked all over, it feels very localised, as if it were sharp. About 30 different places will have this feeling, and then it changes to different locations almost immediately.
I have been to the doctors about it, and they performed tests, and concluded that I had low allergy to cats, grass, and a high allergy to tuna.
This only seems to happen in the, particularly this time of the year. I just can't understand why they say its these factors considering I have lived with cats everyday of my life (I am 19), and I virtually have a whole can of Tuna on a sandwich for lunch and have no effects.
I can have no contact with these, but experience itching, generally immediately after I begin sweating.
I can't exercise because I immediately begin sweating and itching, and gaining weight fast.
Itching Skin- Skin Condition or Plain Allergy?
It sounds like you have dry skin. It can make you feel like you're being poked. I feel exactly like that if I don't moisturize. Since you're a guy you probably don't use a moisturizer or body lotion. In the winter the skin gets more dry. Get a body lotion (you can get unscented) and apply it after every shower. Even if your skin looks normal it may still need moisturizing to protect it from the air and wind.
What you said about the sweating makes me think your pores and sweat glands are irritated by something. You may want to change soaps and laundry detergent. Think about the chemicals you're exposed to that could cause itching. It could be a food, but I think it's more likely something you have skin contact with.
Reply:log onto morgellons.org to compare symptoms . only a 30x handheld lighted microscope will enable you to look at your skin to detect any fibers . cheep tool on line about 25 bucks then show your doctor the fibers and print out info from morgellons.org .
no treatment yet but at least the doc wont label you buts if you show him the fibers through the scope
anti fugal creams like monist ate often sooth the unbearable itching and stinging , shower with baking soda .

What kind of Doctor should I see for skin health? (i.e. rashes, skin itching)?
Generally, if you have a new rash, you should see your regular provider. Many skin conditions don't require a specialist to diagnose and treat. Some rashes are chronic, or long-term, requiring regular check-ups to keep them under control. You should consider seeing a dermatologist if your regular regimen is not working.

oatmeal
Any tips PLEASE on how to stop skin itching. I'm told its due to menopause.. Theres no visible problem/sign
Drinking lots of water helps. And a oatmeal scrub helps. When you have your bath or shower, wrap a half-cup of oatmeal in a net bag and use that to scrub your skin down. It does help.
Reply:a nice oatmeal bath as pp suggested. Medicated lotions. Cold (like the frozen peas in your freezer.) A nice scrub down w/ a loofa. or rubbing alchol.. but it will dry skin a bit.
Reply:I use a moisturized body wash, it helps.
Reply:I've heard a lot of things about menopause, but not itching! But, I guess we could add that...Have you seen a Dr.? Sounds to me like your having an allergy reaction. I would try Benadryl, that is something you can buy at the store. But, other than that-I would see my Dr. Good luck!
