Why does my skin itch when exercising?

I just began exercising by jogging around the neighborhood and I noticed that my skin started itching. Anyone know why this happens? I expected possibly being out of breath, sore, side cramps, etc. but itching?

Why does my skin itch when exercising?
When you exercise, your heart pumps faster and your blood vessels dilate as a mechanism for heat loss due to your energy expenditure. With exercising, you are detoxifying your body of unwanted wastes and toxins through sweating. One reason you may be itching is because of the release of these unwanted wastes through the skin. This should resolve after exercising and having taken a shower. Another more probable reason is that your blood cells release their histamines, and these mediate the itchy sensation you feel. This should also resolve after exercising. Not everybody has the same reaction to increase physical activity. Good luck!
Reply:If you are having a itching like a sting of a bee it is due to your body releasing histamines. Your pores are opening up and releasing them.
Reply:Itchy pants syndrome? or some other type of allergy? Try wearing cotton pants.

I would recommend consulting a doctor if the problem persists.

Good luck and hopefully you are able to continue exercising!
Reply:could it be you are sweating maybe?? that will make you itch.
Reply:my trainer said that its due to a build up of some kind of acid. If you work out frequently your body eventually sweats it all out. But if you take a break for a week or so it gets built up again. So it is only temporary!
