Itching skin?

my body itching all over

Itching skin?
Be careful about using Lanacaine or hydrocotisone over your entire body. You can absorb too much of those meds and have problems.

If you don't think it's an allergic reaction to something you ate or a new soap or detergent, and if you have no obvious medical problem (liver or kidney problems can cause severe itching), your skin is probably just very dry from this winter weather.

Drink plenty of fluids, after you get out of the shower pat your skin dry and apply moisturizer immediately. Aveeno, Eucerine, Curel are good for sensitive skin. Use mild body soap at this time of year, something like Caress or Dove; the deoderant soaps can dry your skin out more.
Reply:GO TO THE DOCTOR!
Reply:Dry cold weather. Mine is too. Lots of lotion and oatmeal baths!
Reply:Have you been using a humidifier? Moisturizing? Drinking enough water? If it's cold where you are, your skin may just be taking a beating. If you think it's serious, hurry to the doctor.
Reply:Try Lanacane--It burns, but it relieves itching. You might want to call your doc, though, b/c you might have a rash or disease!
Reply:see a dermatologist. see if they can prescribe something. it may be a histamine problem. or maybe an allergy. if its not one of those, get a good lotion that doesn't contain any theletes (fragrance) or parabens (plastics). i like aveeno w/ the green label. Mix the lotion in your hand w/ a little hydrocortisone cream (1%) and slather it on right when you get outta the shower, before your skin is totally dry.
Reply:I have the same problem and it is worse in the Winter. Sometime I claw myself to the point of leaving Bruises. I asked my Doctor about it and he called it the Winter Itch, because the Dry Cold Air takes all the Moisture from our body hence causing Dry Itchy Skin. I have since bought a Humidifier for the House to put Moisture back in the Air, that also helps with colds and dry hacky coughs. He also told me to take a Warm Shower in the Winter, NOT Hot and to apply baby Oil to the skin after Showering. It has helped a Lot.
Reply:Itching can be caused by insect bites like mosquito bites, heat rashes or allergic reactions.Aloe vera gel , apple cider vinegar or vitamin E oil can be effectively used on the affected skin.
