The skin on my face is itching, burning, and cracking?

My skin has been really dry this winter - not only on my face, but my entire body. I noticed yesterday, though, that I had a significant amount of acne on my face(it showed up in pictures, too, which has never happened before when I had acne), so I started using Neutrogena's Oil Free Acne Wash.

Well, now my face is bright red, it's itching and burning like crazy, and it hurts to smile. The acne is disappearing, but it looks like the skin is irritated. I guess my question is - should I continue using the acne wash, should I go back to using a regular soap(which also dried out my skin), or should I just not wash my face at all?

I'm also using a Dove facial moisturizer, which helped before but now seems to be irritating my skin.

Whatever you are using, quit. Try the transparent glycerin bar by neutrogena. Get some Aveeno oat moisturizer. Increase your water intake.
Reply:There is a sun protector called Genovan that is oil free and stops your skin from getting dry. You can find those protectors in any drugstrue. The problem with acne treatments is that they tend to dry your skin a little too much. If its getting really bad you should stop the treatment and visit a dermatologist.
Reply:Too much sun...no seriously you sound like you need some hydrocortisone creme to heal and stop the itching and the burning sounds like an allergic reaction.
